For this project, the goal was to modify a current typeface and create a display typeface out of it. For my concept I took inspiration from Talavera. A traditional Mexican pottery style known for its vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and glazed ceramic finish. Originating from Puebla, Mexico, it blends Spanish and Indigenous techniques, often featuring floral, geometric, or folkloric designs in bold blues typically. It is commonly used for tiles, plates, vases, and decorative objects. The type face I chose to modify is called Times Italic. No not times new roman (I checked like 50 times thinking I messed up). This was challenging project that took many hours of my sleep and money from my bank (I had to buy so many monsters…).
